FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Ordering & Shipping
When will my tubers ship?
We begin shipping in mid-March. We monitor weather patterns closely and will only ship your order once the threat of freezing temperatures has passed for your specific region. You will receive an email with tracking information the moment your package heads out!
Can I combine multiple orders to save on shipping?
Yes! If you place a second or third order, please use the discount code Combine at checkout. This ensures we ship everything together and you don't pay double for shipping. Note: We cannot combine orders or refund shipping if the code is not used. Combine shipping only works when your order has not been packed or shipped.
Do you ship to Alaska, Hawaii, or internationally?
Currently, we only ship to the continental United States.
Planting & Growth
What if I don't see an "eye" on my tuber?
Some dahlia eyes are "sleepy" and take time to wake up. We guarantee that every tuber we ship has at least one viable eye. If you are concerned, place the tuber in a warm, slightly humid spot for a week to help the eye emerge before planting.
When should I plant my dahlias?
Wait until the soil is warm (around 60F) and the danger of frost has passed—usually the same time you would plant tomatoes. Important: Do not water your tubers until you see green growth above the soil, as this can cause them to rot!
Returns & Issues
What is your refund policy?
Because we are a small-scale grower with limited stock, all sales are final. We do not offer cancellations or changes once an order is placed.
My tuber or cuttings arrived damaged. What should I do?
Please inspect your order immediately! If there is an issue, email us atpawsandpetalsflowers@gmail.com within 24 hours of delivery. Be sure to include clear photos of the tuber and the packaging so we can help you out.
Why don't you offer a virus-free guarantee?
We follow strict hygiene practices, including disinfecting tools and removing any suspicious plants. However, since many dahlias carry latent viruses that aren't visible to the eye, and professional testing is not practical for small gardens, we cannot guarantee a virus-free plant once it leaves our care.
